Daily Living Skills

The Daily Living Skills course offers you the opportunity to try out equipment, ask questions, share with others your experiences of being visually impaired and the “trials and tribulations” this can bring.  It also offers the opportunity to learn about services which are available both through ESAB and other organisations to help you cope and maintain your independence.

The course is held once a week, for five weeks, from 10.30am to 2.45pm at our head office in Herstmonceux, East Sussex.  It is a friendly, informal and informative course and the days are spent with people who have an understanding of the changes and adjustments you need to make in your life.

The course is free and ESAB can arrange transport if required. To help with our costs, we do ask for a contribution towards the transport costs.

If you would like more information about the course and its content, please contact us.   The feedback below is from a participant who attended our course in June 2010:

“Thank you for the excellent five week course in Skills and Strategies for Daily Living.  It was very well structured and I found it rewarding and interesting.  I live on my own and had some trepidation about the future, but you have widened my knowledge of what [support] is available and improved my confidence…So many aspects of the course were useful, they opened my eyes to much that I will find indispensable in the future.  Thank you very much for the time and work you have put into this course and be assured it was much appreciated”
