Membership Many people choose to become paid up members of East Sussex Association for the Blind. Some of these will be visually impaired people who have personally benefited from the support we can give. Others will be family members or friends who have seen what a difference the Association can make to individual people. Many of our volunteers also take out membership which is much appreciated. Membership is voluntary but it is an essential part of the make up of our funding and can therefore make a big difference to how much work we can do locally. Membership is also a highly visible indication of how much our work is needed and appreciated locally and also of personal involvement by those using or helping us to deliver our services. This can help us to attract more funding into the organisation. Importantly, members will have voting rights at our Annual General Meeting each year, a lively event which is attended by our members, volunteers, supporters, funders and local dignitaries. Membership and Gift Aid Your membership fee can be even more valuable if you are a UK tax payer and sign a Gift Aid declaration form. This will enable us to get from the Inland Revenue an additional 25p for every £1 given in membership fee or as a donation. Complete and sign the Gift Aid declaration on the back of the membership form and return it to us with your membership fee. You will not need to do anything else.
